The BOW Model 532 was created to combine an efficient, safe cleaning operation with fast precision stacking of 1/4 inch tape on a wide variety of reels. The 532 was designed to handle reel sizes from 7inches to 10 1/2 inches in diameter with a 5/16 inch diameter drive hole. Tissue cleaning stations and a sapphire blade, proven time and again to be the most effective cleaning system, remove debris from both sides of the tape. Downstream, a uniquely designed packwheel delivers a straight, perfectly centered stack on both plastic and metal reels. With the optional optical inspector (725 option) the user can establish a fail criteria to weed out bad tapes and save valuable tapes.
The BOW Model 5320 Certifier unit is simply a
Model 532 with heads positioned in the tape path after the cleaning
stations, and electronics to certify. In the test mode, a signal is
recorded onto the tape and immediately played back for the dropout
detectors to display an error count. By setting an appropriate
dropout fail criteria, the operator can discriminate your scrap
tapes from good ones that have been tested specifically for your
